Rector Search Committee seeks input from parish

For several months, the St. Paul's Search Committee has been working on the preliminary steps to search for a new rector. The biggest job has been coming up with ways to get input from parishioners about their hopes and dreams for our congregation's future and the role our next rector will play in helping us become who we believe God is calling us to be as a community.

As part of that process, the search committee has developed a self-study document that we hope will serve four important purposes: (1) to encourage you to reflect on what it means to be God's people in this congregation and community; (2) to assist the search committee in assessing candidates who match our needs at St. Paul's; (3) to help those candidates have a better understanding of our parish; and (4) to give the vestry some general information for planning for the congregation's future.

At a later date, there also will be facilitated, open invitation meetings to get more input from the congregation.

The self-study is in three parts: Section I – Your Experience of St. Paul's Today; Section II – Your Preferences for a New Rector; and Section III – Information About You. We realize that it's lengthy, but everyone's input about the life of our church is vitally important to the search committee's efforts to identify the best candidates to recommend to the vestry. Here are some tips for taking the survey:

We encourage you to complete and return the self-study by Nov. 11. It can be either deposited in a designated box at the church or mailed as soon as possible before that date. The search committee appreciates your time and support in gathering this information. If you have any questions about the self-study, please contact one of the search committee members for assistance. We look forward to hearing from you.
