Daughters of the King
The mission of The Order of the Daughters of the King is
the extension of Christ's Kingdom through prayer, service and evangelism.
The Order of the Daughters of the King is an Order for women who are
communicants of the Episcopal church, churches in communion with it, or churches
in the Historic Episcopate. The Order was founded in 1885 by Margaret J.
Franklin at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher (now Church of the Resurrection) in
New York City.
Members undertake a Rule of Life, incorporating the Rule of Prayer and the Rule
of Service. By reaffirmation of the promises made at Baptism and Confirmation, a
Daughter pledges herself to a life-long program of prayer, service and
evangelism, dedicated to the spread of Christ's Kingdom and the strengthening of
the spiritual life of her parish.
The Julian of Norwich Chapter, Order of the Daughters of the King here at St.
Paul's was instituted on May 4, 2001, with 24 charter members. The chapter
currently consists of 40 members. The Chapter meets on the Third Thursday of
every month. Please contact Melanie Clayton for more information.
